Porthminster Beach Cafe, St Ives, Cornwall

Fantastic location with some brilliant local seafood all cooked to the highest standard topped off with some very good informal service. They were very accommodating as we just walked in and asked for a table....not a problem...they gave us a choice of table in the end which was a fantastic start especially when we didn't even book a table!

Food wise... for starters we ordered squid with chilli and miso dressing....brilliantly cooked and presented..things then got even better with the blow-torched tiger prawns with seafood foam...what a dish..looked awesome and tasted brilliant too! (I was gutted i didn't order it in the end it was that good!)
Main courses...Local plaice...and sea bass....nothing too fussy just simply done with a twist...Asian inspired with the sea bass..hint of chilli just exquisite! followed by two very clever desserts! Well worth a visit if your in the area!

Cayenne Restaurant, Belfast.

Well worth a visit, had some lovely well cooked food with some great service too! both of our meals were cooked with great accuracy with all sauces well seasoned and good piquancy. My seafood ragout was beautifully cooked as was the duck salad and my squid starter just showed great imagination and flair! the desserts we had were ok but didn't quite have the wow factor as the other two courses, the souffle I had was just lacking a bit of punch and flavour, but still very good! will certainly visit again next time we are over visiting friends! thank you again...keep up the good work!

Game night at the Royal Foresters, Callow hill, Nr Bewdley, Worcestershire.

Well where to begin...me and my wonderful girlfriend came here for game night on the 2nd of November 2010. We were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome and shown to our table. After we had perused the menu we finally ordered, both of us plumping(no pun intended) for the Pigeon breast as our starter, followed by the Duck and the Partridge. For dessert we both chose the Apple and chestnut crumble with Vanilla custard.

Overall the cooking was a very good standard, our starters and main courses were well cooked and presented with good piquancy in both sauces. The desserts however were a little on the dry side although the lovely home made vanilla custard made up for it!

In summary as per usual the food was excellent throughout, the general service was pretty good apart from the inefficiency of the so called wine expert (Sean) really didn't leave us with a pleasant overall experience. From what I could gather the wine expert wasn't a direct employee so after only receiving 3 glasses out of 4 of the wines, we had to ask where he had gone leaving both of us a glass of wine light but also with an unanswered wine quiz sheet.

The matter was handled brilliantly with great charm by Tamas, he retrieved the situation...albeit I feel it was not actually his responsibility to do so in the first place so well done!!

Well worth a visit again....just avoid the wine waiter on theme nights
